Responsibility depends on the marketplace agreement and approved payment model. Define who responds, provides evidence, and funds any resulting loss before sellers begin transacting.

Do not assume pending proceeds are eligible for payout. Early availability, if offered, requires explicit funding and risk terms. Model refunds, disputes, and reserves alongside seller payout timing.

Map the original purchase to each seller’s allocation and your platform fee. Also define how partial refunds and failed fulfillment affect individual seller balances.

Plan the collection and status experience around the approved onboarding integration. Your product should show outstanding requirements without treating a submitted application as an approved account.

Ask for a written scope naming the methods, markets, currencies, integrations, and responsibilities included in your program. Separate capabilities available at launch from planned work so the implementation and commercial terms match.

Agree on a test plan with the implementation team: successful and failed outcomes, pending states, retries, refunds, and reconciliation where relevant. Confirm which test environment and production checks apply to your setup; a simulated success is not proof that every live rail is enabled.
